Ming Chen’s Scanning Electron Microscope Images

My training as a Plant Virologist and my interest with microscopy has guided my path to the Surgical-Medical Research Institute at the University of Alberta, where I am the supervisor of the Medicine/Dentistry Electron Microscopy Unit. This unique position allows me to pursue my hobby of collecting samples, such as mushrooms, for my Microworld collection.

I always find such enjoyment in exploring nature’s magnificent microscopic beauty and sharing this with people. I have been fortunate enough to have had many of my images featured prominently on a variety of media. In 2001, the Edmonton Transit System adopted my «larger than life» images for the 2001 school term Student Bus Pass. The Royal Alberta Museum has featured my images in exhibits in 1999 and 2001. In addition to that, several images have been used for textbooks and educational television such as the Discovery Channel in the States.

Please feel free to visit my web page to find more microworld images. From my web page, I can be reached via e-mail to ask any questions or to make any requests for samples that you would like see in my microworld collection.
