We are thrilled to have Larry Evans as our feature speaker at our AGM and President’s Dinner this coming Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9:30 to 4:30 pm at NAIT 11762 — 106 st. You won’t want to miss it!
Larry is best known for his starring role in “Know your Mushrooms” the cult mushroom movie which came out in 2010. Currently Larry is one of the directors of the Western Montana Mycological Association, a mushroom tour guide taking people to Argentina and Bolivia as well as being a regular participant at the Telluride Mushroom Festival in Colorado. As well he regularly teaches mushroom identification courses in Montana at the Glacier Institute.
Larry can make wild mushrooms seem as exciting and providential as windblown $20 bills scattered across your lawn. “I was born a mycophile. Some people are like that,” he goes on. “Look at the people in any mushroom club, and you see that they can’t help it. “I fell in love with mushrooms back in 1977,” Larry said. “I took a course from the great mycologist Orson K. Miller, author of Mushrooms of North America.
At the AGM Larry will be reviewing some of the Fungi found and South America and a Mycoremediation project that is being planned for that area.
Hope to see you there!
