Hello, I am finding these in quite a few places in a conifer forest. Typically growing in clusters of 3. Looking online brings of purple gilled laccaria? I am not sure that the purple is that vivid, though. The spore print is very pale. I could only see it on white paper after 24 hours.
Foray Monday, June 25, 2018. Near De Winton, Alberta. Good attendance. Oyster mushrooms had been reported in the area. However, some areas were inaccessible due to high water volumes after the rains on Saturday. Unfortunately, no significant mushrooms were found.
The only chanterelle we get in Alberta is the yellow foot, canterellus tubaeformis. They grow in bogey mossy areas but it maybe a bit early yet. We don’t get e yellow chanterelle in Alberta, like Saskatchewan or BC.
No, they don’t appeal to me at all. Also have been connected with causing gastric bleeds. Lots of way better mushrooms. Some are eaten in Europe and even though they are named the same that does not mean that they are.Lots of examples of this.

Lyophyllum is a big genus that encompasses a lot of different mushrooms. Lyophyllum Decastes does not generally grow on trees so I would suggest these are not Lyophyllum Decastes. At any rate, Lyophyllum Decastes are not a beginner mushroom. I would not recommend eating something that you think is Lyophyllum Decastes without getting an identification…
You don’t have a great shot of the gill or if they were a chanterelle, ridges. These look like gills, so it’s likely not a chanterelle. Never seen a bulbous base on a where chanterelle. I would guess at Leucopaxillus especially if the gills peel easily, otherwise a clitocybe.
